Following the success of Belgian photographer Kristof Ramon at the ex-Monte di Pietà in 2025, the Consorzio We Like Bike renews its now-traditional appointment with exhibition paths dedicated to two-wheeled culture, organized in San Daniele since 2019. This year’s featured artist is Harry Talbot, a New Zealander born in Christchurch and a resident of Girona, Spain, for several years.
At 26, Talbot is one of the world’s leading young talents in cycling photography, following in the footsteps of figures like Russ Ellis, Chris Auld, Matt Grayson, and Kristof Ramon. Harry began photographing at age 15 with a small Canon gifted to him; since then, he has never left the historic Japanese brand. He currently uses a EOS R5 Mark II, processing his work with Adobe Lightroom.
After a stint as a barista, he began his photographic career shooting weddings and various ceremonies. Always drawn to nature and sport, he turned his focus to cycling in 2020. After consulting with a recently retired photographer from his hometown, he decided to move to Europe two years later to follow the world’s most important cycling races. In the beginning, this meant sleeping in his car—a sacrifice that didn’t bother him much. In April of that same year, he covered his first “Monument,” the iconic Paris-Roubaix, during the year of Dylan Van Baarle’s victory. From that moment on, his work gained recognition among industry insiders, professional teams, and cycling enthusiasts alike.
“Photographing cyclists isn’t easy, given they often travel at 50-60 km/h,” says Talbot. “It would certainly be simpler to take ‘easy’ photos in the ‘right’ places—photos that, in some way, we’ve already seen. I like to have a different point of view, to create a story, to evoke emotions. Thinking creatively and trying to produce unique shots is, first and foremost, a challenge with oneself—the best way to grow and evolve. And it’s beautiful to do it with cycling: when you look at this sport through a camera lens, it’s hard not to fall in love instantly.”
‘Visuals of Harry’ is the 2026 WeLikeBike exhibition showcasing Harry Talbot’s work. It will be held at the ex-Monte di Pietà in San Daniele del Friuli from May 3nd to June 14th, 2026.
