SAN DANIELE DEL FRIULI (UD) – The countdown is on for the second edition of We Like Gravel, the non-competitive cycle tourism event promoted by the We Like Bike Consortium, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026. This is not a race and there are no stopwatches: just the pure joy of riding together, breathing in the unspoiled nature of the middle Tagliamento area, and enjoying the region’s artistic and historical heritage.

The event is open to all Gravel and MTB enthusiasts, both acoustic and electric bikes (e-bikes). With departure and arrival in the heart of San Daniele del Friuli (Via Cesare Battisti), participants will immerse themselves in a captivating itinerary featuring dirt tracks, white roads, and secondary routes, riding alongside the Tagliamento river, climbing towards foothill viewpoints, and crossing charming, historic villages.

The Routes: Two Souls, One Great Adventure

Cyclists can choose between two loop routes (with the option to select or change your route even at the last minute):

• Route A (103 km – 1,749 m total elevation gain): The complete and most challenging route. From San Daniele, riders dive down towards the Monte Ragogna area and the gravel riverbed of the Tagliamento towards Pinzano, reaching Spilimbergo, and then Sequals and Castelnuovo. The return journey winds along the slopes of Monte Pala, the Arzino valley, the bridges of Cimano, and the picturesque hills of Majano and Rive d’Arcano.

• Route B (67 km – 990 m total elevation gain): A shorter and more accessible version that captures the hilly and foothill charm of the longer route by turning back early towards Ragogna.

Hospitality, Taste, and Conviviality

True to all good cycling traditions, the effort on the pedals will be amply rewarded. Upon arrival in San Daniele, a festive social gathering awaits the cyclists featuring the legendary San Daniele Ham, alongside a warm plate of pasta and goodies for all participants.

How to Participate and Registration

Registrations will open on Monday, September 28 at 12:00 PM and close on Friday, October 9 at 12:00 PM.

• Registration fee: €25.00 (includes GPX track, souvenir gadget, refreshment stops along the route, locker rooms/facilities, and the final social gathering).

• All registered participants will receive the GPX track in advance for navigation via GPS device or smartphone.
